 Louis Zukofsky, Futura 5 "a"-9
Louis Zukofsky
Futura 5 "a"-9
Not Stated, Hansjorg Mayer, 1966. Paperback. A smart copy of this edition of part nine of Zukofsky's major work, the long poem "A". Part of Zukofsky's major work, the very long poem "A" - never referred to without the quotation marks. Zukofsky predetermined that the work would have twenty-four sections, which he began in 1928 and would work on intermittently for most of the rest of his life, finally completing the poem in 1974. This is the ninth section, which takes the intricate form of Guido Cavalcanti's canzone, "donna me priegha," here presented next to Zukofsky's work, using content mostly adapted from Karl Marx's Das Kapital. Written by Louis Zukofsky, an American poet and the primary instigator and theorist of the so-called "Objectivist" poets. The original folded paper. Smart with light wear to the extremities and minor age toning. The odd small mark to the external panels with minor loss to the corner of the page. The odd small closed tear at the folds. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
